Absolute singleturn encoder sin/cos TSTMW42

The new analog single-turn absolute encoder for motor control application has been developed upon specific customer’s requirements.
The encoder output is a pair of SIN-COS signals developed on a single mechanical turn (is also provided a continuous reference signal REF) and can be also supplied with incremental output interface (e.g. for applications requiring the commutation signals U, V, W for motor models starting between 1 up to 8 pole pairs).

TSTMW42 Absolute Singleturn Encoder (Sin/Cos) – FAQ

  1. What is the TSTMW42 Encoder?
The TSTMW42 is a new analog, single-turn absolute encoder developed specifically for motor control applications. It is designed to provide high-precision position feedback within one mechanical turn.

  2. What output signals does it provide?

    • Sin/Cos Signals: The encoder delivers a pair of continuous sin and cos signals that represent the position over one complete revolution.
    • Reference Signal (REF): A continuous reference signal is also provided to ensure stable and accurate position tracking.
    • Optional Incremental Interface: For applications that require commutation signals (U, V, W) – for instance, motor models with 1 to 8 pole pairs – an incremental output interface is available.
  3. What applications is it designed for?
This encoder is primarily used in motor control systems where precise, analog-based position measurement is essential. Its outputs are ideal for servo and other motor control applications that demand accurate feedback for smooth operation and efficient commutation.

  4. What makes the TSTMW42 unique?
The TSTMW42 has been developed based on specific customer requirements, ensuring that it meets the exacting standards needed for high-performance motor control. Its dual output option (sin/cos with REF, and optional incremental outputs) offers versatility for various system configurations.
